Toshiba’s optional Multi-stapling finishers and saddle-stitching finishers are equipped with a unique Multi Active Drop Mechanism.
The Multi Active Drop Mechanism is an enhanced buffering method developed by Toshiba, which provides high performance stapling for high speed MFPs.
In general, a finisher employs a buffering unit to improve performance of its stapling function. However, most finishers have reduced functionality in certain situations, such as in double-stapling or with stapling landscape-oriented paper such as A4-R or LT-R. On the other hand, our Active Drop Mechanism makes it possible to match an MFP‘s output speed in most stapling situations. Once our mechanism determines the minimum paper path, the Multi Active Drop Method adjusts itself to the high speed MFP by increasing the number of sheets in the buffer from two to three pieces.
